Did I just ruin a classic or make a cool new surfboard?

This board was given to me by my uncle about 15 years ago, and it's actually one of the boards I learned to surf on. Even though this surfboard has sentimental value, I stopped riding it a long time ago as the shape is pretty outdated. I decided to give her a new lease on life.
