Senior Scientist- Pressure Sensitive Adhesive Tapes

Hello,
I have an excellent career opportunity for Senior Scientist with a global manufacturer of Pressure Sensitive Adhesive Tapes. This leading manufacturer is looking for a Senior Scientist to help them develop, design, and create new products as part of their new product development team.

The role is based in the Southeast US and reports to a Technical Director. It requires relocation to their facility in North Carolina.

The responsibilities include:
• Manage new product development and research projects including establishing of goals, objectives and execution plans
• Support research work with strong analysis of the patent and research literature.
• Contribute to the development of intellectual property as determined by the business and product innovation strategies
• Maintain an awareness of external product and process technology developments related to PSA tape technology
• Provide technical plant support for technology scale-up, as well as ongoing troubleshooting


Job Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science/Engineering, or Materials Science/Engineering or equivalent experience
• Ph.D required
• Applied polymer science experience and knowledge
• Ability to lead and participate on cross functional NPD teams
• 15+ years’ direct experience in PSA tape technologies
• Ability to travel (15% of time) to domestic and foreign location
• Strong understanding of how to use the structure, properties and performance of pressure sensitive adhesives and their interaction with additives, tape constructions and substrates to develop new or improve existing products
