Ep4 - 'Pyrenees, Portugal & Picos' Tour (1st - 18th Sept 2022)

This is Episode 4 of this tour, covering Days 11 & 12 of my fantastic 18-day trip from the UK via Northern Spain to the 'Pyrenees, Portugal & Picos'.

The entire tour covered a ride into the Pyrenees, then across Spain to the highest area in Portugal, and then North into the wonderful Picos National Park at Fuente De, to spend our few last days exploring before returning via the Bilbao ferry.

The tour was organised by myself and Wayne Morris. Joining us, were 19 fellow motorcycle club members of the UK motorcycling club, www.pemc.co.uk. The PEMC club has over 300 members, mostly based in the UK, who enjoy a wide variety of well-priced events and trips based around the UK & Europe.

Day 11 ~ A rest day at the Luna Hotel Serra da Estrela, Portugal for some.
I led a small group of riders on a 63 mile leisurely loop ride around the Serra da Estrela mountains and visit the highest point in Portugal, which obviously offered spectacular views.

Day 12 ~ I had a longer, bendy route pre-planned but the day started damp and threatened worse to come. So, I adapted and shortened my route to 167 miles, which took us quickly North a few miles, before heading into the countryside for some ‘bendage’. Then, down into the Douro Valley and up the Northern slopes to more twisty roads and our fabulous accommodation at the historic Forte de São Francisco Hotel in Chaves, Portugal.

It looks great on a Smart TV, as it’s filmed in HD.
