The very funny and sexy ladies from the Golden Globe-winning show, Brooklyn Nine-
Nine, Melissa Fumero and Stephanie Beatriz, grace the cover of Latina’s August 2015 issue, which is the publication's first ever comedy issue. The comedic actresses and real-life friends share with Latina childhood stories, keeping a straight face working with co-star Andy Samberg, comedy's boom of hilarious leading ladies and being part of the new multicultural generation of television. The issue hits newsstands and Nook Newsstand July 7, 2015.
Stephanie Beatriz on the new generation of TV: “There are so many different types of people right now on television. The light is coming through the cracks. You can’t block it out anymore. It’s changing.”
Stephanie Beatriz on being cast as one of two Latinas on Brooklyn Nine-Nine: “I remember we would grab each other and go to the side and say, ‘Do you think they will keep both of us?’ We were so nervous about the two Latinas thing.”

Melissa Fumero on the audition process: “They didn’t tell me that I was going to do improv. But it was great because if I had known I would have gotten nervous about it.”
Andy Samberg on his costars: “They are both highly skilled performers who don’t have a mean bone in their body. And on set they’re both complete goofballs. You couldn’t ask for a lovelier cast; really sweet.”
Melissa Fumero on her rigorous hot yoga workout: “I hate working out, so when I do I want to feel like I’m dying after it.”
