Then Twitter banned their accounts.

Many wonder if the right to free speech applies to private social media companies like Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.

When Elon Musk bought Twitter in October last year, he employed a “free speech” agenda, and restored the accounts of Trump, West and Tate.

In Canada, every citizen has the protected right to freedom of expression, which includes freedom of speech.

But what exactly does free speech mean? Can anyone really say whatever they want, whenever they want, to whoever they want?
