🌌 Pangong Lake to Hanle Village – A Journey Beyond the Stars 🌌

After soaking in the surreal blue of Pangong Lake, we started one of the most thrilling drives of our Ladakh journey — towards Hanle Village, one of the most remote and mesmerizing corners of India.

The road from Pangong to Hanle is raw, wild, and hauntingly beautiful. Vast stretches of barren land, snow-dusted mountains, and the occasional herd of Kiangs (wild asses) make you feel like you’re driving on another planet. There are no cities, no phone signals — just silence and the endless wind whispering through the valleys.

After hours of driving through high mountain passes and dusty trails, we finally reached Hanle — a tiny village tucked away at nearly 14,700 feet. But don’t let its size fool you — this little dot on the map is home to India’s Indian Astronomical Observatory, one of the highest observatories in the world and now India’s first Dark Sky Reserve.

When night fell, we understood why Hanle is called the Gateway to the Galaxy. The sky came alive with millions of stars, the Milky Way stretching above like a glowing river. It was pure magic — no lights, no noise, just the universe looking back at us.

Hanle isn’t just about stargazing. It’s about feeling how small we are, how vast and beautiful this world truly is.
