Another thin place - Monarch Butterfly Sanctuary, Michoacán, Mexico - Ice 2 Fire Episode 39

The Monarch Butterfly Sanctuary in Michoacán, Mexico.

We were so pleased that we just made it in time to see the last of the butterflies before they made their way back to Canada. The journey these beautiful insects undertake is immense - during their eight month migration, five consecutive generations are born and die.

It was definitely a thin place for us.

Ice 2 Fire is the first leg of our Round the World trip - Prudhoe Bay to Ushuaia.

We have sold everything (and I mean everything) and packed our panniers. Our bikes, two Yamaha T7s, were flown out to Anchorage along with ourselves.

It's been a rocky road of many ups and downs to reach this point. We have dealt with breast cancer and broken ankles amongst other things, and for the last five years we have been Chasing the Dream. The dream is now happening and we can't quite believe that we're on this journey. It's very surreal.
