Noli grumbled as he tried to balance a plastic filled with beer cans on his left arm and a pizza from that pizzaplace he and Sev would always trash on his right. He had no idea what or why he was doing this. Quite frankly, he felt silly now. Walking along this unfamiliar neighborhood, rows of similar houses lay next to eachother with such eerie stillness, replicas of the same houses everywhere. How could anyone live in such a... Boring place. It felt so 'normal'. It was gross.

He'd ask Sev when he sees him.

Ah,

Sev.

Right. He was going to visit him. Noli felt a strange trickle of anticipation mixed with nervousness at the thought of seeing his old friend (were they friends?) again. People might find his actions audacious and he would wholeheartedly agree, but, Sev was his friend. Or used to be as much as the corners of his lips tilted down at the thought. He just wanted to visit. An old friend visiting a friend. Nothing odd or weird. Sure, they didn't end on good terms, with a huge argument brewing from them. Harsh, cruel and personal insults being exchanged. Its been 10 long years since that night. A decade of radio silence from Sev, A decade since his partner in crime retired at such a young age just throwing away his potential, A decade of quietly keeping tabs on the man every few years. He was no stalker, he just wanted to know how he was.

Noli hummed to himself. The neighborhood Sev picked was a quiet one. He supposed it makes sense given he was raising a child all by himself, raising one in a chaotic and rowdy environment would take a toll on poor little Sev. Still, it was baffling to Noli that Sev truly had gone through his promises and proven Noli wrong, a whole decade he spent raising a child alone. Noli would have thought he'd given into the pressure and stress and dumped it in some orphanage somewhere, hopelessly wishing Sev would crawl back to him and they could start exploiting once more. But a year passed and another. And those years turned into a decade. His kid would be in 5th grade now, he thinks.

Noli kicked a crumped piece of paper on the ground as posters of some missing kid flew past him, but he paid no mind. Based on his research, Sev's house should be around the corner. The impending reality that he would soon see his friend after so long, after ending on such bad terms, brought back the sense of nauseating nervousness up his spine. Would Sev even talk to him? Welcome him to his house? Probably not. But he'd like to try. Maybe he'd apologize (he won't because he really thinks that Sev shouldn't have taken the kid. Or maybe atleast allowed Noli to still be in thier lives. But whatever. Bad influence his ass) And maybe he'd formally meet the child that won the same heart in a matter of hours that Noli has been trying to win for years. He was curious as he was bitter. And maybe, just maybe, they'd reconcile. And maybe Noli would hold off trying to convince Sev to become a hacker one last time.

He turned a corner and saw the same quaint little house he's been seeing every nook and cranny of this god forsakened neighborhood. He checked the address on his window pop-up, careful not to drop the pizza, comparing the address on the beaten up mail box and his pop-up window... it seemed he arrived in the right location. The nervousness was back once more. Dammit. He was a grown man! What the hell was he feeling nervous for?

"This is so dumb, " he grumbled with a shake of his head as he walked along the pathway of the house. What does he even say to him? Was he even home? Oh. Crap. He didn't check. He grumbled as he climbed up the stairs and stood face to face at the wooden door. A bead of sweet dripping on the side of his face. He looks at the doorbell and contemplates what to say.

'Hey Sev, I know you probably don't want me around your kid and in your life anymore. But Hey, I brought beer and pizza from the place you got blacklisted on. That one employee we used to poke fun at isn't working there anymore which is strange. But hey! Pizza?'

He exhaled a pitiful breath of air through his nose. Suddenly feeling so utterly stupid standing here. He doesn't even have a proper reason for visiting. Sev's birthday was over a month ago and he sure as hell didn't know the kid's birthday. Or any event that might justify him visiting. He sighed and rested hus forehead on the wooden door, catching a breath.

Noli jumped, startled as the door creaked just the tiniest of openings. He blinked. "What the... It's not locked?"
