In this video we have Pablo "the Panda" Sandoval Who had a great game in game four of the 2014 World Series. Pablo had a clutch two RBI base hit that gave the Giants the go ahead and they went on to win game 4. Pablo got caught a little out in front of the pitch but was able to maintain bat lag to get the barrel on the ball and smoke a ball into the outfield for the go ahead runs.

In this video we are going to show you how he created the bat lag and why it is crucial in the baseball swing. Pablo is excellent at creating bat lag and in the situation he was able to hold on to the lag long enough and the bat snapped through at the very last second to make good contact.

That lag is a crucial contributor to bat speed yet it also serves a very important second purpose for keeping the barrel in the zone for a long amount of time. By properly creating bat lag the barrel will naturally enter the zone early and stay through the zone for the long as possible amount of time.

Lag is created during the initiation of hands going towards the ball and decreasing the angle between the bat and the top hand forearm.

I look forward to helping you improve your baseball in the future!
