Pilgrims, not only from Austria, do not hesitate to walk hundreds of kilometers here. Countless people have visited here over the centuries. And there were also anointed heads. The sacred statue of the Gracious Mother of God is still revered as Magna Mater Austriae, the Great Mother of Austria, and is dressed in expensive dresses, most of which come from members of noble families. Without clothing, the 48 cm tall statue, surrounded by two archangels, can only be seen twice a year, on the feast of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary on September 8 and on the day of the church's foundation on December 21.

Neuberg, Austria is located in the municipality of Neuberg an der Mürz in the federal state of Styria (Steiermark). It is a small town known primarily for its well-preserved Gothic Cistercian monastery of the same name.
