• A strong desire to be the other gender.
• A desire to be treated as the other gender.
• A strong conviction that one has the typical feelings and reactions of the other gender.
There is a range of different treatment approaches that can help alleviate gender dysphoria. However, these treatment approaches are not widely available.
Many trans individuals who experience gender dysphoria see gender-confirming medical interventions.
Gender-confirming medical interventions may alleviate gender dysphoria.
Therefore, potentially preventing mental health issues experienced by trans individuals.
Gender-confirming medical interventions include hormone treatment (HT) and gender-confirming genital surgery (GCGS).
