Something that we're extremely passionate about is the handling of soft tissues and how we view hip and knee replacements more than just placing a prosthesis well. We also look at all the other aspects of the joint, including the soft tissue around them. That began the quest a decade ago for a method of performing a total hip replacement that did not require the usual cutting and detaching of muscles/tendons or major ligaments. The direct anterior approach is the only inter-nervous and inter-muscular approach to the hip used for total hip replacements, and is the one we have been using exclusively for almost 10 years now.
