Con Murphy is a singer-songwriter who hails from Ballinrobe in Co. Mayo, Ireland. A singer-songwriter by night, he spends his days facilitating music sessions in the Mayo Mental Health services. Con has been developing his live sound over the past number of years writing and performing his original works on various stages at home and abroad. He has played support over the past decade to reputable Irish artists including Damien Dempsey, Aslan, Mundy, Duke Special, Paddy Casey and The Frank and Walters. This newest single is a step deeper into his melancholic folk roots with a strong tip of the hat to the great American country folk artists of our time. This track was introduced to live audiences as part of Con’s ‘Condemned the Lyricist’ themed shows in early 2019 - the highlight being a first sold out headline show in Whelan’s, Dublin. Condemned the Lyricist, Con’s previous release in 2019, features the sublime Vyvienne Long on Cello.

Saffron & Pink will feature on Con’s debut album that is currently in production - with a release date expected for mid 2022. The album features tracks that explore his varied yet distinctive sound and style with tracks throwing up hints of Indie folk, traditional folk, ballads and alt rock. “There is something in here for everyone” - Dave Skelton DSR Productions, Galway.

Prior to the forced sabbatical of 2020 & 2021, Con and his band had appeared twice at the Electric Picnic Music & Arts Festival in recent years, played a headline show in the Roisin Dubh, Galway, sold out his EP launch show in Iceland in 2018, and returned in early 2020 with a first Irish sold out show in Whelan’s, Dublin.
