“Induction” is the first mission in Call of Duty®: Advanced Warfare.

In Seoul, North Korean forces have invaded the South Korean capital. Private Jack Mitchell and Private Will Irons of the United States Marine Corps Badger Squad, led by Sergeant Cormack, were deployed to repel the overwhelming Korean People’s Army. Six months into his recruitment, Mitchel thought that this wasn’t just a mission, but an initiation.

After intense fighting through the modern city of Seoul, the Badger Squad picked where the Demo Team One left their mission and soon located the Havoc Launcher, a heavy artillery weapons platform with flight capability.

Irons and Mitchell proceeded to place the charges on the weapon platform, but before they could get to a safe distance, Irons’ arm was caught when the door suddenly shut closed.

Mitchell helped his best friend break free, but the Havoc Launcher began to take off. Irons then pushed Mitchell back to the ground to save him, and was caught in the massive explosion, killing him in action. Unfortunately, the large falling shrapnel also caught Mitchell, cutting off his arm and rendering him WIA.
