The Department of Education (DepEd) has released a new memorandum directed to all regional directors, schools division superintendents, public school heads, and other concerned parties, regarding the standardization of materials for national symbols and prayers.

Dated December 2, 2024, the memorandum from Atty. Fatima L. P. Panontongan, the Undersecretary and Chief of Staff, mandates the consistent use of officially sanctioned materials for the national anthem "Lupang Hinirang," the "Bagong Pilipinas" hymn, and the official DepEd prayer during all official ceremonies, including flag-raising ceremonies, flag retreats, and other formal DepEd-related events.

This move ensures uniformity and respect for national symbols across all educational institutions. The Department has provided a link to the official audio-visual materials. It stresses the responsibility of regional and school division offices to disseminate these properly to all schools and units under their jurisdiction.

These materials must be used during all official ceremonies, including flag-raising ceremonies, flag retreats, and other formal DepEd-related events.
