Hi everyone,

I've always wanted to cover Radnich's arrangement of the Pirates of the Caribbean Medley, but I had always given up or some other thing came up and I'd eventually forget about it. However, given that we're heading into the true heat of the summer, I thought it'd be a fitting to finish what I had started and cover this piece!

This lean and mean arrangement of the Pirates of the Caribbean medley combines the fast-paced action of the movies along with the sense of adventure found on a pirate ship during the 17th and 18th centuries.

The piece begins with the tried-and-true battle theme that engages the listener almost instantly -- nearly climaxing before allowing them to breathe for a moment as it enters the flowy legato section. Suddenly, the tone changes from smooth sailing to a sense of urgency and tension, leading into a smattering of powerful chords that accentuate another classic melody from the series. After a second brief reprieve in the arpeggiated measures, the arrangement finishes with a melodramatic sequence of even more powerful chords, glissandi and octave arpeggios leading into an unexpected ending.

In my opinion, there were quite a lot of 'unorthodox' passages that I had to really spend time and home in on to attain a satisfactory level of performance.
