2011 Prius Overheating Issue..

Water pump is making some strange noises. Overflow tank was getting too pressurised and shooting all the coolant out of the cap. I installed a new O-Ring and now it holds pressure, but still leaks and it does not seem safe this way.. is my water pump going bad?
