Decorah North Eagles ~ RRP Builds A New Starter Nest For The Eagles & Leaves Two Fish Gifts! 8.16.24

RRP (Raptor Resource Project) John Howe & Amy came to the nest tree today and rebuilt a starter nest for Mr North and DNF after their nest collapsed in a storm on June 16th 2024. Here is video of the nest collapse:    • 📢  DECORAH NORTH NEST COLLAPSES AFTER...  

They turned on the cams for a couple of hours and were able to use the same tree as the trunk was intact and it is the best tree in the pasture. They used a lift and put up a bionic limb in a fork of the tree to support rebuilding. They then added a lot of large branches and broke them in half and quarters to build the outer perimeter of the nest. Soil was also brought in and stomped in to provide comfort for the eagles.

When John and Amy were finished, they left two fish gifts - one for Mr North and one for DNF ♥ We do hope that the eagles will like the rebuilt nest and will use it for egg laying next season!
