Supriyo Maitro is an acclaimed & accomplished Dhrupad vocalist of Dagar Vani style.
He is regarded as one of the most promising & talented Dhrupad artists amongst
erudite Dhrupad exponents in recent times. He received formal training in Guru Shishya
Parampara under the tutelage of Padmashree Gundecha Brothers at Dhrupad Sansthan
(Gurukul), Bhopal, India
 Supriyo Maitro is an ‘A’ grade Artist of All India Radio (Akashvani)and DoorDarshan.He
has been giving regular performances in All India Radio (Akashvani) and Indian National
Television (Doordarshan).
 Having completed his Masters in Music from reputed Rabindra Bharati University,
Kolkata, he qualified National Eligibility Test (NET 2007).
 He has been invited as a resource person in national and international seminar and
workshops organized by leading Indian universities like Mumbai University, Rabindra
Bharati University etc.
 He was not only instrumental in designing Indian music software with reputed IT
organizations, but also recorded ‘alap’ of 50 ragas for an internationally reputed
software company to develop a Raga-Detective software. For a Music instrument
company, as one of his expert contributions, Supriya Maitra recorded ‘tanpuras’ of all
pitches that gained tremendous popularity amongst Music practitioners. His most
popular Music album “Dhrupad Amor” is released in South America. Currently, he is
working on other albums too.
 He pioneered Dhrupad Sansthan’s Distance Learning Program in Dhrupad Music and
popularized Dhrupad teachings online across the globe through Skype and other online
communication. Supriyo Maitro is the first trained teacher of Dhrupad Sansthan
(Gurukul) offering Dhrupad lessons to a large number of national and international
student.
 He has been working as a ‘Dhrupad Guru’ at Ramakrishna Mission Institute of
Culture Gol Park, Kolkata, India (RMIC).
 He is regularly conducting workshop on Indian Music at NCPA (Mumbai), Delhi,
Hyderabad, Bangalore, Bhopal & Kolkata in addition to above, he is also offering
Dhrupad lessons to national & international dhrupad enthusiasts / learners at Delhi,
Kolkata, Mumbai & Bhopal in one to one process..

Shri Anil Baijal for his life long dedication and contribution in the field of
ancient form of music(Dhrupad).

accompanied his revered Gurus ‘Padmashree’ Gundecha Brothers and
