The main objective of “Embrace Balkans Adventure " supported by the USAID Economic Development, Governance and Entrepreneurship Growth project, is to increase the tourism offers of tour operators in Albania, Kosovo, Montenegro and Northern Macedonia.

The activities organized by Active Albania in cooperation with the World Rafting Federation, the Faculty of Physical Activity and Recreation (University of Sports of Tirana) and local partners MontAlb in Kosovo, BLT Doo in Montenegro and Webgliders DOOEL in Northern Macedonia formed 64 young people from four states with skills in: rafting, mountain trekking and hospitality.

The purpose of the trekking training in the area between Ohrid and Prespa is to provide participants with a general education and training in accordance with international standards and best and safest mountaineering practices.

The field training is enabling future mountain guides to become familiar with the different levels of mountain trekking, the equipment needed to successfully guide these hikes, mountain orientation, mountain tour preparation procedures with diverse groups, risk management and problem solving in mountain tours.

And where could it be organized more beautiful than about the UNESCO-protected property of Ohrid, Prespa National Parks and Galichica, surrounded by colorful forests and meadows and enriched over the centuries with many important natural monuments.

The trekking training has brought together young men and women from Albania, Montenegro, Northern Macedonia and Kosovo.

The goal of Active Albania is to generate income through commercial activities, which will help raise standards in all tourism activities and raise the profile of Albania and the Western Balkans as a sustainable tourism destination.
