A recent video has emerged showing thieves escaping the Louvre Museum after a daytime jewellery heist over the weekend. The footage captures two men using a powered, extendable ladder as the basket slowly lowers to the ground and into the truck.
 
But burglars who stole jewels worth an estimated 88 million euros from the Louvre are not the only ones profiting from the heist.
 
The German manufacturer of the lift used by the criminals to steal some of France's crown jewels published an advertisement meant to be a joke with an image of their lift in front of the Parisian museum.
 
After finding out that one of their lifts had been used, Alexander Boecker, CEO of Crane Manufacturer Boecker, and his wife decided to make an advertisement on social media and said "Luckily for us, most of the people got the humour and know that we are not involved in the robbery, and we were very pleased with the reaction so far."
