Hi guys, I'm Logan the 64th Gear Jammer Skeele, Founder of Advantage Diecast, welcoming you to the Decorated Southside Warehouse for another Christmas Edition of Toy Talk!
The next few episodes are going to be this year in review.
In this, and the next video I am going to talk about some of my favorite Toy Talk episodes. You can find these videos with the links above or on my channel so you can watch the complete video.
I made so many videos this year that I am only going to talk about just a few of them.
As you know Toy Talk is dedicated to talking about all manner and scale of diecast and resin toys but is mainly focused on 1/64th scale cars, trucks, fire trucks, construction equipment, aerospace vehicles, and farm equipment.
I have put a link to the full videos in the description below.
Please go on and subscribe to my channel to stay up to date with all the great videos coming out next year!
So, let’s get the ball rolling!
Let’s get started with Episode 03 - “How to Make Your Toy Collection Stand Out and Get Noticed”
(Link to full video: • How to Make Your Toy Collection Stand... )
Let us pause the video a moment here.
I wrote this piece because I really want your collections to stand out and get your friends to talk about them.
Unique items, related to your collections, regardless of scale is one way to accomplish this goal.
Moving on...........
That was important but kind of dull, let’s move on to another episode.
Let us try Episode 23 - “Revell Toy Company, Origins of Models, Model Ships in Bottles, Wood & Plastic Model Kits”
(Link to full video: • Revell Toy Company, Origins of Models... )
I found this episode quite interesting to make because model making began some 4000 years ago with models of wooden ships.
Model building has been around for centuries. In modern times, Revell was one of the leaders in Model kits and marketing.
Modern day models of cars and trucks and many other things come in pre-made or in kit form. With the advent of plastics though, and the use of the injection molding machine model kits turn quickly to plastic and they were using cellulose acetate as that was one of the earliest plastics that was available for them.
The 1960s saw a huge boom in the model kit business. Aurora, Revell, AMT and Monogram took big advantage of this.
In 1950, Lou Glazer, rebrands his company, Precision Plastics as Revell. Revell then continued the Gowland & Gowland line of Highway Pioneers. The line of 30 cars that were being marketed at the time. And these were the first mass produced automotive model kits. Revell's marketing plan for the Highway Pioneers was to market them at Woolworth's Dime Stores. And that's where they sold them for 69 cents a kit.

Now let’s switch up and talk about Greenlight Collectibles Trucks with Episode 31 - “Greenlight 1-64th Scale Diecast Mack Anthem Tractor Trailer USPS - United States Postal Service”
(Link to full video: • Greenlight 1:64th Scale Diecast Mack ... )
This video really surprised me as to how it took off. I didn't think the subject would be that popular, but it sure got the views and likes.
I hope you enjoyed this trip down memory lane with me. I still can't believe how long ago that first video debuted and how far my channel, Toy Talk, has come in a year.
Thank you all for making this the growth of my channel possible and joining my journey!
