AM I REALLY AS TOUGH AS MY CHARACTERS? | How I Trained For A Spartan Obstacle Race

I’ve always been athletic. It’s honestly been the one constant in my life since before I can remember. Pushing myself out of my comfort zone seeing what my body is capable of fuels me and just makes me more passionate. That being said I’ve never pushed myself like this. I’m an actor folks; I only pretend to be a warrior. Over the years a lot of you have told me you have been inspired by these strong women that I’ve been able to bring to life. Well they inspire me too! So I wanted to do something that one of my characters would do in an attempt to channel some of their fierceness. A Spartan Race!

Watch me train my butt off on the road to Sparta and do everything I can to prepare myself for my upcoming race. Burpees anyone? ; )

This whole experience was hard and there were many workouts where I practically crawled out of the gym. In the end I was so proud of myself for setting a goal and following through no matter how intimidated I felt. What I didn’t expect was how much it taught me about myself. I have trained and run next to women that are the real deal. True warriors. In life and on the course. I’ve met people through this experience who motivated me and pushed me. I’m in better shape now than I’ve ever been in my life and I’m almost 40! I’ve never been happier and more motivated to experience life to its fullest.
I’ve done all I can do. No turning back now! Here I go! Aroo Aroo Aroo!!
