The history of Kushan dynasty is not written from Indian texts but on the basis of Chinese texts. In Chinese texts, the Kushanas have been considered as a branch of the Yu-Chi race, whose residence was in the Kansu region of China. 100 BC Around AD the Yu-Chi race split into 5 branches and they included the Kushans, but around 15 AD, the first king of the Kushan dynasty, Kuzul Kadphises, took control of Bactria (modern Afghanistan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan). Kushan dynasty was founded. The city of Kasan in modern Uzbekistan was settled by the Kushans. Archaeologists have found the remains of palaces and forts of early Kushan kings in Kasan, which are considered by archaeologists to be Kushan period.
