Sacramento Regional Transit Gold Line light rail trains pass through the 65th Street railroad crossing on the SACRT Gold Line in Sacramento, California filmed from both sides of the crossing and at different angles. This crossing owned by SACRT is an mixed install with the first side I'm on set of signals being an SPRR 1979s to 1980s signal build install with changes that sides bell, lights, gate, counterweight arms, and mechanisms not being the original signals equipment. The second side I'm on signals are an SACRT late 1980s signal build install with changes to there bell, lights, gates, counterweight arms, and mechanisms with also not originally having side lights on each signal.

If you wonder why there are a pair of signals here formally owned an SPRR and how they are here on one side its because when the light rail was built through here in the mid to late 1980s and when it opened in 1987 there was previously a SPRR line through here the light rail replaced and also because when the light rail was built there was a spur track that ran alongside the light rail tracks here that was built at the same time the light rail was in the 1980s that ran from the UP Fresno Sub main line the former SP mainline east of here alongside the light rail tracks through the Redding Ave crossing and this crossing and University/65th Street Station on up to the 59th St Station west of here so the two still existing customers one was here at 65th Street to the east and the other near the 59th St Station for the SPRR could still get their freight deliveries which made the Redding Ave and 65th St crossing jointly owned by SPRR and SACRT and they each had there own set of signals at the crossings with SACRT mainly using Safetran signals and SP using Modern Industries signals. The customer near the 59th St Station stopped getting served in the early mid 1990s so the SP Spur track was cut back to just past 65th St which also allowed for the SMUD campus to expand which is just on the west side of the crossing. In the late 1990s the remaining customer that was near here shut down and the SP spur track in this area was removed but left a track island stub in the crossing and granted SACRT full ownership of the crossing. In 2001 that track stub island was removed by SACRT and the two previously SP owned signals were moved closer to the light rail tracks. Of course during the process and after the crossing has had changes to its equipment.
