The UPU 4th Extraordinary Congress in Riyadh approved a set of proposals aimed at creating a more universal system of postal financial services and promoting their continued evolution.

Prannoy Sharma, Deputy Director General (International Relations and Global Business), Department of Posts, Ministry of Communications, representing India as a topic co-chair, reflects on the challenges when its comes to meeting the needs of all UPU members while anticipating future demands and on the importance of finding flexible and scalable solutions that will increase the interoperability within the wider postal sector and help expand, diversify and innovate the postal financial services market to advance financial inclusion for all.
