Garden of Gethsemane : Here Jesus Prayed and was Betrayed by Judas Iscariot in Jerusalem, Mount of Olives.
As a part of my Jerusalem tour. I visited The Garden of Gethsemane, Mount of Olives. “ Gethsemane ” comes from “Gat Shemen” in Hebrew, which means olive press.
It is very historical, significant biblical site to visit.
Gethsemane Garden is a garden in Jerusalem near the Mount of Olives where, according to the four Gospels of the New Testament, Jesus prayed in the garden and was betrayed by Judas Iscariot , and was arrested the night before his crucifixion.
Just next to the garden, there is a church. The Church of All Nations. Many countries helped build the church, thus the name “Church of all nations”. The church was built by Antonio Barluzzi, the Italian architect, in 1924. It was built over the rock on which Jesus is believed to have prayed in agony the night before he was crucified.
When you visit Israel and you are in Jerusalem make sure to visit this significant , historical site for Christian Pilgrimage.
