"Norwegian Wood" - The Beatles - Cover In Open D Tuning on a Martin D-28 12 String.

(#34 in "Open Tuning Songs" series.) I have been a long time fan of The Beatles acoustic based songs. My two favorites are “Blackbird”, which I covered a few months ago.( Link:    • "Blackbird" Paul McCartney - Cover So...   ) and “Norwegian Wood”. I have been wanting to cover this one for a while, but was looking to take a fresh approach to the song. It has been covered by dozens of artists including Waylon Jennings, Jan & Dean, Charlie Byrd, The Kingston Trio, Jose Feliciano, Herbie Hancock , Hank Williams Jr., Judy Collins, Leo Sayer, Colin Hay. Buddy Rich, and Rick Wakeman. So I decided to try an “Open. Tuning” version on my 12 String Martin D-28. The sound achieved on 12 open strings on a guitar kind of echos the sitar sound in the original version. I also slowed down the tempo and added some stops between the verses. My 2018 Martin D12-28 is sounding better every year. Listen to how it rings during the stops…and particularly after the last chord! Enjoy. Thomas
