NYPD 44th PCT - Early September Morning - 1989

Описание к видео NYPD 44th PCT - Early September Morning - 1989

An early weekday morning outside the "Old 44", 1278 Sedgwick Ave.

Video opens up with a Plass siting, then camera pans around to see the surrounding Major Deegan Expressway.

PO Joel Plass comes along and messes with mine and Oscar Garcia's scooters (I totalled both of them in a 3 month period - I'm not proud of it, but it is what it is). Observe next to Oscar, the granite posts that the horses of days old were tied to. I am not sure whether they are still there.

Captain Harvey Katowitz steps out to the front steps after being the Duty Captain on the late tour.

Oscar and Joel share a few jabs at each other about how well they work together.

The camera pans around, and we see familiar sights, slightly different than they are now. We see the famous Aqueduct Bridge, that once upon a time was the tap water source for Manhattan, feeding from the reservoirs in the Bronx and Upstate NY; We see the Stadium Motor Lodge, which was a SRO hotel for people with no home or very low incomes (pretty much the same thing, last I knew); We also see the Highbridge Park tower, across the Harlem River, up on the hill (a sniper once was firing at the 44 back in the Black Panther days). The tower's cap has since been renovated (rebuilt back to it's original style).

There is also an officer getting out of his car in the distance (to me it looks like Jimmy Held, but I'm not quite sure).

Then we see Oscar and me showing off our medals (great racks, ha ha). Then we observe PAA Leland Chase (the famous 124 Room two finger IBM Selectric UF-61 typer).
