Feb. 3 is National Women Physicians Day! It’s observed in honor of Dr. Elizabeth Blackwell, the first woman to receive a medical degree in the U.S. in 1849. She initiated the movement that helped women gain entry and equality in the field of medicine. We are honored to have 42 talented and dedicated women physicians call Phoebe home. We celebrate all women physicians who serve southwest Georgia and keep our communities healthy!
