For example, in rugby, this mouthguard has been used so that training is at the optimum intensity, where it is not so intense that injuries occur but not too low-energy where preparation is ineffective. This could also be a huge benefit in boxing. Boxing, especially heavyweight boxing, has faced huge controversy in regard to concussions and this mouthguard could help with this. Ringside doctors could use this data to see whether their fighter is healthy enough to proceed with the fight. More than 20% of boxers have brain injuries when they are retired and using data like this can help hugely reduce this number.
