X-Files Ukulele Tutorial - Duet: Melody + Riff (TABS ON SCREEN)

This X-Files ukulele tutorial will get you to play an arrangement for a ukulele of one of the spookiest theme tunes ever.

The theme tune from X-Files “Materia Primoris” was recorded by American film and television composer Mark Snow and released as a single in 1996.

In this ukulele duet arrangement, I teach you how to play an easy arrangement of this piece. I put together the two main parts of the piece in an arrangement for a ukulele duet that lasts about a minute so that you can put together your own X-Files theme ukulele cover.

The melody is relatively easy even though its metric is a bit unusual as it always starts on beat four.
But the real challenge is the riff that goes together with the melody. It uses triplets and the fast tempo doesn’t really help. 

You can follow the tabs on the screen and I also included a play-along of the entire arrangement. You can really learn how to play the X-FIles theme on the ukulele in about 10-15 minutes!

By the way, this arrangement works very well for a ukulele duet, learn both parts and put it together or even better play this with another ukulele friend.
