Pure Thrash! Kidderminster 40th Weekend | Ft. 6 Locos! | 2 Westerns | GWR Steam & More 27/6/2024

What an excellent day!
27th July 2024 saw the 40th anniversary of Kidderminster town station at the Severn Valley Railway.
So they put on an amazing event to celebrate it!
Featuring:

So we arrive at Kidderminster Station and head down platform to our train hauled by the beast of the class 52, D1015 ‘Western Champion’ one of the main reasons I came, also because 2999 ‘Lady of Legend’ was booked to run, but unfortunately she failed before the weekend :/

Eventually we leave Kidderminster behind D1015 for Bridgnorth, admiring the parked 2”s along the line and meeting GWR Pannier class 7714 at Arley (booked to replace 2999) Some awesome thrash as well behind D1015!

As we arrive at Bridgnorth in the rain, BR standard 75069 Waits for us! We change onto the busy train and head to Arley, enjoying thrash and pretty scenery and see D1062 on the way.

I took some photos of 75069 before hopping over the bridge onto ‘The Kidderminster Venturer’ Hauled by GWR hall 4930 ‘Hagley Hall’ as she barks to Bridgnorth.

Again waiting for us at Bridgnorth is our second Class 52 ‘Western’ or ‘Whizzo’ it’s D1062 ‘Western Courier! We get some nice start up shots, cab shots and then plenty of thrash behind her. meeting D1015 at Hampton Loade

The original plan was to ride her to Kidderminster, but when pulled in to Arley, we told we had some downtime due to delays, I thought nothing of it and just had a wander and took some photos, but I was then told 75069, which we were meant to meet here, had failed at Kidderminster. We were told 37263 was to be started up to keep the train running, so we decided to change onto her train when she eventually arrived.

We get some Lovely thrash behind 37263 and change onto 4930 ‘Hagley Hall’ again at Hampton loade. To enjoy some more thrash and even a two-tone whistle at Highley! We see D1015 At Arley, and D1062 at Bewdley.
