Описание к видео Sinus Tarsi Treatment -- Oakville Chiropractor -- Shockwave , IFC, Adjustments!

Dr. Steve is slowly being known as the sinus tarsi guru in Oakville. His treatment although aggressive gets the job done FAST. Sinus tarsi syndrome is a condition in which there is chronic inflammation around the lateral aspect of the ankle joint, irritating the ligaments and tendons and causing the joints of the ankle to get "stuck".

Dr. Steve Knighton uses a combination of IFC, heat, shockwave therapy, Instrument assisted soft tissue therapy and manual ankle adjustments.

IFC and Heat- At the clinic he will heat your injured ankle to increase blood flow during treatment. IFC at our Oakville clinic is a electric stimulation device that is applied with suction vacuums that helps relieve pain in the affected area. It increases blood flow and overall relaxes the muscle around the spine.

Active Release Therapy for Sinus Tarsi and/or chronic ankle sprains- After the Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Therapy your chiropractor will usually perform some passes of ART on the effected tissue surrounding the ankle to help loosen the ankle for the adjustment.

Shockwave Therapy- Shockwave is a pneumatic gun that hits a bullet through an applicator onto the affected area. The shockwave unit is usually adjusted between 1.0 and 1.6 BAR and the ankle is "hit" between 600 and 1200 times on the ankle. Dr. Steve has developed his own pattern of shockwave and continuously moves the applicator unit to work the entire area. In the link below there is a more in depth explanation of Shockwave treatment.

Manual Adjustment-Dr. Steve will do a manual adjustment on the ankle joint to help loosened up and get the ankle moving properly.

After your treatment with Doctor Steve, he will recommend icing and stretching your injury when you get home. Below is the link to a video on how to properly ice your injury after treatment.
