Part 63. Heather breaks into the Quartermaine mansion intending to plant the fake note. She hides in the basement when Edward and Stella come home. Monica tells Robert what she did on the evening of Susan's murder. She went to the cottage but Heather was there so she didn't go in. She went home without ever going inside. Robert tells her that Heather has said she saw Monica walk past her in the house after Susan was shot. Heather, in the basement, sees the photograph of Susan that Alan was using for target practice. Deciding the photograph is all she needs, she decides not to use the fake note. She sneaks out of the house while Edward and Stella are in the living room. Monica can't believe that Robert would believe a card carrying lunatic like Heather. Robert says he considers anything remotely possible. Robert won't arrest her but will watch her very carefully.
