A Spring walk through farmyard, field and forest in search of wild edibles.

I'm making Spring Fritters today, so out hunting for what the English hedgerow has to offer in the way of free food. I'll be foraging for chickweed, nettle, hogweed, wild garlic, dandelion, fennel, primrose and many others.

As we forage, I will talk about some of the old folk names associated with the plants we gather, including bits of folklore, superstition and magic. In doing so, I feel we are reconnecting with nature and with the mindset of our hunter gathering ancestors.

Finally we will cook it all up in some delicious wild spring fritters.

This is a celebration of the Old Ways, folk wisdom and the quiet magic of the hedgerow.
