My First CYCLOCROSS RACE of 2024

Jumping back into the cyclocross scene after a 6-week break, and this one hit hard! My first cyclocross race of 2024 was at round 4 of the Wessex CX League in Prospect Park, Reading. It was my first race since becoming a Dad, and wow, it was a brutal wake-up call!

With my training on pause and a bit of 'Dad weight' added on, I knew it wouldn't be easy, but I didn't expect to struggle this much. The power just wasn't there, leading to one of my worst results in recent memory. But that's the beauty of cyclocross – it challenges you, pushes you, and reminds you why you love racing!
