Infinite Warfare Zombies is the first Zombies mode by Infinity Ward and the followup to the height of the CoD Zombies gamemode. Here’s five things it did right.

#5: Infinite Warfare Zombies is the first Zombies story with a clearly structured plot. It’s shameful that this is a first for a game that had existed for eight years at this point, but here we are.

#4: Infinite Warfare gave the player the ability to remove perks without going down. This gave players far more flexibility within their games and made improvisation far less risky.

#3: Director’s Cut is by far the best reward we’ve ever had for completing the super easter egg. It completely changed the game, and was able to be switched on and off at a whim. The Mephistopheles boss fight is also the hardest boss we’ve ever had and makes earning that reward incredibly satisfying.

#2: IW Zombies has a great blend of simplicity and depth. Casual fans can get to Pack-a-Punch and round 30 without a guide on most maps, and hardcore fans have the biggest incentive to grind Easter Eggs and use additional features they’ve ever had.

#1: What makes IW Zombies stand out today is its style and charm. While other modes over-indulge in their attempt to make a grandiose epic, IW just wants a structured, lighthearted romp in the form of cinema.
