I Tried ULTRALIGHT BACKPACKING!!

I said I would NEVER do it, but I caved - I WENT ULTRALIGHT BACKPACKING! Ultralight backpacking is backpacking with a base weight under 10 pounds, allowing you to hike further and faster. That means 10 pounds or less for all the gear you carry, outside of consumables like food, water, fuel, and the clothes you are wearing while you hike! Here's the thing - I have long been a skeptic of ultralight backpacking. I don't get the obsessive ounce counting, and I'll take a heavier pack in the 20 pound base weight range in order to enjoy more comforts on trail every time. But is it possible my skepticism about ultralight backpacking has been misplaced? Do the benefits of an ultra light backpacking kit outweigh the losses in comfort? Is the ounce counting obsession worth it? Am I about to become a snobby ultralight backpacker?! Watch to find out!
