Line follower robot is very nice project for beginners everybody can make this project who have little bit of knowledge of Electronics.
this project follow the black line on white surface, and you can modify this as white line on black surface. this prject uses two IR sensors which are used to detect the black or white color and a motor driver L293D is used to drive the motor.
the great thing of this project is that you can make this if you have zero knowledge of programming, because it is made without any microcontroller or arduino.

Hardware

3. TWO MOTORS
4. 9-12 VOLT BATTERY
5. CHASSIS
6. TWO WHEELS
7. BATTERY CHARGER/ TRANSFORMER/ ADAPTER

Working
Two sensors are attached in the front side of chassis (left and right) which can detect the color (black or white).
in normal conditions both sensor will be on white part so robot should move in forward direction, in this condition both sensors gives logical high. In the other side if one sensor is on black part, this means robot should move in the side of Black side.
output of both sensors are connected to L293D motor driver because we must increase the power of signal which is caming from sensors.
two motors (100-300 rpm) are conneced to L293D motor driver ic which is responsible to rotate the motors.
