Under the direction of Cheryl Woldseth, the 60-piece Nevada County Concert Band performs at the Independence Day celebrations 7/4/2012 in downtown Nevada City, California.

The band regularly performs an hour-long pre-parade concert - curbside - for the parade-goers who come early to find a shady seat. Then the band stays - still curbside - to entertain throughout the parade whenever there are non-musical entries, equipment break-downs, or emergency services required.

"Richard Rodgers: A Symphonic Portrait" is a medley arranged by Frank Erickson, that contains the following tunes (from the following shows):
Nothing Like a Dame (South Pacific)
• The Hills Are Alive (The Sound of Music)
• I Whistle a Happy Tune (The King and I)
• Wonderful Guy (South Pacific)
• Climb Every Mountain (The Sound of Music)

The band annually performs a themed summer concert series at nearby Pioneer Park. This selection was from the June theme "Playing in the Park."

This video was made by a fan sitting curbside in front of the National Hotel on Broad Street. Although you can mostly see the musicians seated on sidewalk, the rest are there - just further back into the building's recessed entryway. The people in the street are setting up for the parade to follow.
