Scank vive

Scank (Jailson Galdino) was a pixador and street artist from Salvador da Bahia, Brazil. In February 2020, his life was brutally ended by a murder that remains unsolved to this day. Leonice Galdino, his mother, initiated a campaign to preserve Scank's memory and artistic legacy.
This mural, created by Tübingen-based artist Marvin Daumüller together with kollektiv orangotango and activists from Epplehaus, commemorates not only Scank's artistic legacy and Leonice's struggle, but also that of all mothers who fight for the lives and memory of their children and against racist hatred and policies that cement social inequalities.
