Awareness Campaign through Street Play on Sanitary Waste Management, RED DOT Campaign, and Majhi Vasundhara Abhiyan
Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation, in collaboration with Basics Municipal Waste Ventures, successfully organized a special awareness program at PCMC Primary School, Chovisawadi. The program was conducted with great enthusiasm and active participation.

Main Highlight – Street Play (Pathnatya):
Instead of only speeches, the issues of waste management and its solutions were presented through a powerful street play. This creative approach left a lasting impact on students and helped them understand the message effectively.
Key Awareness Topics Covered:
🌍 Majhi Vasundhara Abhiyan
Students took a pledge to protect the five elements of nature – Earth, Water, Air, Fire, and Sky. Emphasis was laid on tree plantation and preventing pollution to maintain environmental balance.
🔴 RED DOT Campaign
The importance of safe disposal of sanitary waste (used napkins and diapers) was explained. Demonstrations showed why sanitary waste should be wrapped in paper and marked with a red dot to protect the health and safety of waste pickers.
🛡️ Sanitary Waste Management
The IEC team guided students and citizens on how to segregate sanitary waste at home without mixing it with wet or dry waste. The campaign promotes dignity of labor and respect for sanitation workers.
