This is a video which I created to show you how to install, configure, and perform a remote vulnerability scan against a host using Kali Linux 2.0 and Metasploitable in a virtualized environment. OpenVAS is completely free and open source, and is said to be comparable to Nessus with its reliability of scan results and performance. It was forked from the last three free versions of Nessus after it was made proprietary in 2005.
