Anyway… you shouldn’t be afraid to travel here. In fact- I highly encourage you do! The islands here are beautiful. Despite what the media has to say about this country. I felt so safe even on the mainland. I made some amazing friends for life & we went island hopping together & enjoyed sunset dinners. It was so amazing 🙌🏽

I recommend visiting both islands: Roatan for luxury relaxation type travel (stay at the Kimpton Grand Roatan resort) & Utila if you’re looking for more of island hopping adventure/snorkeling/socializing with other travelers.

The journey to get here is not the easiest though. Plan on an entire 24 hours of travel. Fly into San Pedro Sula & take a taxi to La Cibe. Then you may have to spend the night there and ferry to roatan or utila the next day. If you can ferry the same day as you go down to La Cibe then you’re lucky!
