My friend Kendra and I took a day trip around the surrounding areas. we first stopped in Elk Mound, Wisconsin to go to Mound Hill Castle. the castle sits upon a 1,220 ft Mound. Historically this area has a lot going on. The castle itself was originally built to house mailmen from what I understand. This castle is in a local park that has some hiking trails.

After, her and I went to Menomonie, WI to visit a place called Devil's Punchbowl. To get there we drove past UW-Stout which from what I have been told, the school as well as some of the students help with testing and observation of the nature preserve. It is a gorgeous little area that people can walk through, the area does have some restrictions like some sections being blocked off.
In a previous trip I took with Ray (2020) we followed the water and walked about a mile down. There are other areas to explore besides just the punchbowl itself. On the drive to the bowl there are a few areas that people tend to park at to walk through and climb in the carved out areas. I have been in this area a handful of times during various parts of the year and it is always beautiful.

We did stop at a place called Hoffman Hills which on Google comes up as a Menomonie address but it doesn't feel anywhere close to it. Dogs are not allowed at this area safely but it is another gorgeous nature preserve area that has a tower. This will be on another video I will put out. I still need to go back and do some hiking there.
