Do you know about the Major Incident Public Portal?

Описание к видео Do you know about the Major Incident Public Portal?

Did you know that there is a national online portal where you can submit information about major incidents? Did you know that we use this portal here in South Yorkshire?

The Major Incident Public Portal (MIPP) is another way that you can get in touch with officers investigating major crimes – sending them information, photos or videos direct to the team.

The MIPP is most often used for murder investigations, as this type of investigation requires a dedicated team of officers and staff working in a Major Incident Room (MIR).

The MIPP can also be activated when an incident is likely to result in a large number of casualties, such as a terrorist attack or a major disaster – this is called Casualty Bureau and allows people to submit information in a single place.

If you ever see a MIPP link on one of our appeals for information, this means that you can use this to share information with us – in addition to our usual reporting channels. However, a key benefit of the MIPP is that when you send information this way, it goes directly to the MIR.

This video outlines how you can use MIPP to contact us with any information you might have about a major incident. Unlike our own online portal, you can use MIPP anonymously if you are uncomfortable or scared about sharing your personal information.

Visit https://mipp.police.uk/ and you will see each force has its own dedicated section, meaning you could submit information to other forces about their major incidents quickly and easily.
