Rabiya Khan is visually challenged. She established the world's fifth and India's first Braille Script Arabic Centre at Indore in 2011. The Madarsa Noor Research Institute for the Blind was founded by her to provide blind students contemporary education and vocational skills. She has been appointed tutor for blind students at the DAVV University. A significant achievement was preparation of the Holy Quran in Arabic Braille script for the first time in India. This won her many accolades and she received extensive press coverage. Her concern for blind students and commitment to bringing them into the educational and vocational mainstream makes her a worthy recipient of the National Award .
