In this episode of the podcast Rimo3 CTO Samit Halvadia, and Rimo3's Sage Goodwin are joined by EUC and VDI influencer, author, and podcaster Johan van Amersfoort to go over his early days through EUC, his thoughts on the growing application problem, and where DaaS and the cloud is headed for larger workflows.

About Johan:
Since 1999, Johan has been a part of the IT world. The first few years were spent as a field engineer working with SBC products like WinFrame and MetaFrame, and later primarily with TS/RDS based solutions.

In 2005, Johan had his first experience with VMware products (Workstation) and became hooked, especially after witnessing his first vMotion. All infrastructures they worked with from that point onward had VMware products as a core component. In addition to Server Virtualization, he focused on Application Virtualization with both ThinApp and Softgrid/App-V.

In late 2013, Johan decided it was time for a career change. Combining Server Virtualization with SBC and Application Virtualization seemed like the logical path, leading to a career in End-User Computing. He applied for a position at ITQ as a Virtualization Consultant, was hired, and took his career to the next level. The five years that followed were a rollercoaster ride, marked by achievements such as vExpert status since 2015, VCIX/VCAP certifications (5/6) in Data Center and Desktop & Mobility, VMware EUC Champion awards, membership in NVIDIA NGCA, and the ultimate accomplishment of becoming a VCDX-DTM.
