Anita Seppä (b. 1969) is specialized in contemporary arts and critical aesthetic theory. Earlier, she has been Professor of Visual Culture Studies at the University of Arts and Design, Helsinki, and since 2008, Adjunct Professor in Art Education (University of Jyväskylä) and Aesthetics (University of Helsinki). At the moment, she is doing research on the Political Relevance of the Visual Arts in the Age of Globalization, in a project funded by the Academy of Finland.

Seppä has published numerous academic articles and edited five books (for example, Aesthetics and Ethics (1998), Gender of Beauty (2002), Looking more Accurately (2007), The Classics of Aesthetics (2009). She was the first chief editor of IO: Internet Magazine of Applied Aesthetics, together with Dr Emily Brady.
